The technical FET titles of Troupant were in fact first published as the Mactech Technical series by Macmillan and later as the Southern Technical Series by Southern Books, and the list goes back almost 30 years. The list was republished and expanded in 2007-9 with the introduction of the new NCV curriculum by the national Department of Education, in partnership with Macmillan SA, who handles the sales and distribution of these titles.
Basil van Rooyen, Chairman Basil van Rooyen is chairman of Troupant and a director of the Assessment College of South Africa and of Bookstorm. He has been a book publisher for 37 years, first for international companies and since 1990 running his own publishing companies. He has been Chairman of the Publishing Association of South Africa twice. He has lectured in post-graduate Publishing Studies at Wits University, and is the author of Get your Book Published in 30 (Relatively) Easy Steps (Penguin). She has filled numerous roles in publishing admin and sales at various organisations, including Macmillan SA, Southern Book Publishers and Troupant Publishers.
